Removal Procedure
Intake Manifold Cover (2) - Remove - Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
Harness Connector (1) - Disconnect
- Retainer (2) - Disconnect [ 2x ]
Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose (3) - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Replacement (LGY from Intercooler Heat Exchanger Radiator to Charge Air Cooler Coolant Outlet Pipe) , or Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Replacement (RWD with LGY from Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe Fitting to Charge Air Cooler Coolant Outlet Pipe) , or Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Replacement (LGY from Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe Fitting to Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose) , or Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Replacement (LGY from Intake Manifold to Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose) , or Charge Air Cooler Coolant Hose Replacement (AWD with LGY from Turbocharger Coolant Feed Pipe Fitting to Auxiliary Water Pump)
Harness Connector (1, 2) - Disconnect
- Disconnect the evaporative emission canister purge valve (3) at the charge air cooler cover. Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Fuel Pipe Shield Bolt (1) - Remove [ 2x ]
- Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube-Right Side - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube Replacement - Right Side
Charge Air Cooler Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [ 2x ]
- Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube-Left Side - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube Replacement - Left Side
Charge Air Cooler Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [ 2x ]
- NOTE:
Charge air cooler bolts are captured within the charge air cooler and not removable
Charge Air Cooler Bolt (1) - Loosen [ 12x ]
Charge Air Cooler Cover (1) - Remove
- Charge Air Cooler Housing Gasket (2) - Remove and DISCARD
- Clean, inspect, and overhaul the charge air cooler cover as needed. Charge Air Cooler Cover Overhaul
