Assemble Procedure
Intake Camshaft (1) - Install
- Exhaust Camshaft (2) - Install
Engine Front Cover Locating Pin (1) - Install [6x]
- Camshaft Bearing Front Cap (2) - Install
- Camshaft Bearing Lower Cap (3) - Install
- Camshaft Bearing Lower Cap (4) - Install
- Tighten the 8 camshaft bearing cap bolts for the camshaft bearing lower cap at the intake camshaft first.
- Tighten the 13 camshaft bearing cap bolts for the camshaft bearing lower cap at the exhaust camshaft.
- Tighten the 4 camshaft bearing cap bolts for the camshaft bearing front cap last.
- Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolt (5) - Install and tighten in sequence [25x] - Fastener Specifications
Lubricate Seals.Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Camshaft Position Sensor Seal [6x](1) - Install NEW
- Camshaft Interior Lobe Sensor [6x](2) - Install
- Camshaft Position Sensor Bolt (3) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications
Lubricate the seals with clean engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Seal (1) - Install NEW [6x]
- Camshaft Lobe Position Actuator - Intake (2) - Install [4x]
- Camshaft Lobe Position Actuator - Exhaust (3) - Install [2x]
- Camshaft Position Actuator Bolt (4) - Install and tighten [12x] - Fastener Specifications
Install the EN-52462 - A Camshaft Tool to the camshaft carrier (1) to keep the camshafts in proper place.
Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Fitting (1) - Install
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (2) - Install

NOTE:
Apply the following group sequence when tightening the camshaft bearing cap bolts, as applicable:

Tamper proof line.
