Installation Procedure

    Engine Mount Bracket (2) - Install

    2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

  2. Engine Mount Bracket Bolt (1) - Install NEW and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) - Install

    Prepare the intermediate steering shaft lower bolt (1) for installation as follows:

    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the component. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Install the mid intermediate steering shaft to the intermediate steering shaft by sliding the upper portion of the intermediate shaft (1) upward.

  7. Prepare the mid intermediate steering shaft bolt (2) for installation as follows:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the component. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  8. Mid Intermediate Steering Shaft Bolt (2) - Install - Fastener Specifications

    Auxiliary Generator Battery Jumper Cable (2) - Move into position

  10. Auxiliary Generator Battery Jumper Cable Terminal Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  11. Retainer (3) - Engage

    Engine Wiring Harness (2) - Reposition

  13. Retainer (1) - Install [3x]
  14. Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle - Install - Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (AWD) , or Drivetrain and Front Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (RWD)

    Engine Mount (1) - Install

    NOTE:

    Do NOT tighten all of the way.

    Engine Mount Bolt (1) - Install NEW [2x]

  17. Lower screw jack until the engine sits on mount.
  18. Remove jack and block of wood from under engine.

    Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

  20. Lower the vehicle.

    Engine Mount Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    22. CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

  22. Engine Mount Bolt (1) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Raise the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

  24. Engine Wiring Harness (2) - Move into position
  25. Retainer (1) - Install [3x]

    Engine Oil Cooler Coolant Inlet Hose (2) - Move into position

  27. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage [2x]

    Engine Oil Cooler Coolant Outlet Hose (2) - Move into position

  29. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage [2x]

    {If equipped} Front Crossmember Brace (2) - Install

  31. {If equipped} Front Crossmember Brace Nut (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Radiator Inlet Hose (3) - Move into position

  33. Radiator Inlet Hose Clip (2) @ Radiator Inlet Hose Bracket - Install
  34. Radiator Inlet Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator - Engage [1x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Front Compartment Air Deflector (2) - Install

  36. Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  38. Push Pin (2) - Install [2x]
  39. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  41. Push Pin (2) - Install [2x]
  42. Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications

  44. Push Pin (2) - Install [2x]
  45. Lower the vehicle.

    Oil Level Indicator Tube (2) - Install

  47. Oil Level Indicator Tube Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Wiring Harness (4) - Reposition

  49. Engine Wiring Harness Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    Ensure the intake manifold cover insulator retainers fully engage the intake manifold cover studs.

    Intake Manifold Cover Insulator (1) - Install

    Intake Manifold Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  52. Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (L3B GE 47716)
  53. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  54. Check the cooling system for leaks.
