Removal Procedure

    NOTE:

    Use caution during the steps to avoid marring or scratching the class "A" paint finish.

    Apply two layers of masking tape around the rear end spoiler (1) to prevent paint damage.

  2. Warm the rear end spoiler (1) using a hair dryer or heat gun not exceeding 79°C (175°F). Care should be given to protect the interfacing surfaces.
  3. Using a suitable plastic trim tool, gently pry upwards to release the rear end spoiler (1).
  4. Rear End Spoiler (1) - Remove and DISCARD
  5. Remove the masking tape.
  6. Remove any remaining adhesive residue.
    1. Heavy foam/adhesive residue remaining on the painted surface can be removed using 3M's Scotch-Brite™ Molding Adhesive and Stripe Removal Disc (4 inch) or (6 inch). This disc will not damage the class "A" paint finish.
    2. Light adhesive residue remaining on the painted surface can be removed using 3M's General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, or isopropyl alcohol, and a soft clean cloth.

    NOTE:

    Use a small flat-bladed tool to disengage integral tabs on cargo tie down loop bolt cap

    Cargo Tie Down Loop Bolt Cap (1) - Remove [2x]

  8. Cargo Tie Down Loop Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
  9. Cargo Tie Down Loop (3) - Remove [2x]

    Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim (1) - Remove

    Use a small flat-bladed tool to disengage integral tabs on rear end trim finish panel opening cover (1).

    With a flat bladed plastic trim tool, disengage the integral clips.

    NOTE:
    • Left side shown, right side similar.
    • Carefully manipulate the deck lid hinge opening of the rear compartment side trim past the hinge cover.

    Rear Compartment Side Trim Insulator Retainer (1) - Remove [4x]

  16. Reposition the left and right side rear compartment trim panels (2).

    Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Cover Retainer (1) - Remove

  18. Using the appropriate tool, release the integral retainer and remove the left and right rear compartment lid hinge cover (2).

    Use a small flat-bladed tool to pull and release the rear compartment lid latch cover (1).

    Use a flat-bladed plastic tool to disengage the push-in retainers from the sheet metal.

  22. Rear Compartment Lid Inner Panel Trim (1) - Remove
  23. Disconnect all electrical connectors and reposition the wiring harness.

    Rearview Camera Nut (1) - Remove [3x]

  25. NOTE:

    Observe the mounting and location of the rearview driver information camera to ensure proper reinstallation.

    Rear License Plate Lamp Module Lamp Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

    Disconnect the electrical connector.

  29. Release the retaining tabs on the rear license plate lamp module (1).

    Rear License Plate Lamp Module (1) - Remove

    Low Frequency Rear Compartment Antenna Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove

    Using the appropriate tool, release retainer on the rear compartment lid handle (1).

    Remove the 4 rear compartment lid bumpers (1) by releasing the 2 retainers on each side.

    Rear Compartment Lid Latch Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  36. Release the auxiliary rear compartment latch release handle (1).
  37. Remove the rear compartment lid latch and handle (3).

    Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  39. With the aid of an assistant, remove the rear compartment lid (2).
