Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to SIR Warning .

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

    NOTE:
    • Right side shown, left side similar.
    • Use a small flat-bladed tool to disengage integral tabs on cargo tie down loop bolt cap

    Cargo Tie Down Loop Bolt Cap (1) - Remove [2x]

  3. Cargo Tie Down Loop Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
  4. Cargo Tie Down Loop (3) - Remove [2x]

    Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim (1) - Remove

    Use a small flat-bladed tool to disengage integral tabs on rear end trim finish panel opening cover (1).

    NOTE:

    Use a flat-bladed plastic tool to remove the push-in retainers.

    Rear Compartment Floor Stowage Compartment Retainer (1) - Remove [3x]

  9. Rear Compartment Floor Panel Trim - Remove

    With a flat bladed plastic trim tool, disengage the integral clips.

    NOTE:

    Carefully manipulate the deck lid hinge opening of the rear compartment side trim past the hinge cover.

    Rear Compartment Side Trim Insulator Retainer (1) - Remove [4x]

    Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Cover Retainer (1) - Remove

  15. Using the appropriate tool, release the integral retainer and remove the rear compartment lid hinge cover (2).

    NOTE:

    Carefully manipulate the deck lid hinge opening of the rear compartment side trim past the hinge cover.

    Rear Compartment Side Trim Insulator Retainer (1) - Remove [4x]

  17. Rear Compartment Side Trim-Right Side (2) - Reposition

    Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Cover Retainer (1) - Remove

  19. Using the appropriate tool, release the integral retainer and remove the rear compartment lid hinge cover (2).

    Use a small flat-bladed tool to pull and release the rear compartment lid latch cover (1).

    Use a flat-bladed plastic tool to disengage the push-in retainers from the sheet metal.

    Rear Compartment Lid Hinge Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

    Using the appropriate tool, remove the rear compartment lid hinge torque rod (1) on the left side.

    Using the appropriate tool, remove the rear compartment lid hinge torque rod (1) on the right side.

    Rear Seat Cushion (1) - Remove - Rear Seat Cushion Removal and Installation

  29. Fold the rear seat back to the downward position.
  30. Access the rear seat back bolster retainer lock (1) through a slot in the upper portion of the bolster.
  31. Slide the rear seat back bolster retainer lock (1) toward the front of the vehicle.

    Rear Seat Back Bolster Nut (1) - Remove

  33. Squeeze the rear seat back bolster retainer to release it.
  34. Rear Seat Back Bolster (2) - Remove

    Fold the rear seat back to the downward position.

  36. Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool to remove the quarter window trim finish panel bolt cap (1) on both sides.
  37. Quarter Window Trim Finish Panel Bolt (2) - Remove
  38. Disengage the retainers, starting at the front and working rearward.
  39. NOTE:

    The Quarter Upper Trim Panel does not need to be fully removed from the vehicle.

  40. Quarter Upper Trim Panel (3) - Remove [2x]

    NOTE:

    Use a flat-bladed plastic trim tool to aid in removal of the rear window panel retainers (1) from the rear window panel trim (2).

    Rear Window Panel Trim Retainer (1) - Remove [3x]

  43. Rear Window Panel Trim (1) - Remove
    1. Using a suitable tool, depress the button on the mini buckle to release the rear center seat belt.
    2. Release the rear center seat belt opening bezel from the rear center seat belt retractor.
    3. Lift up on the rear window panel trim (1) to release the retainers under the forward portion of the panel trim.
    4. Route the center seat belt webbing, buckle, and bezel through the trim (1).
    5. With the aid of an assistant, guide the rear window panel forward in the vehicle and upwards to clear the speaker system.
    6. When replacing the rear window panel trim (1), transfer all necessary components.

    NOTE:

    Removing 1 of the 2 bolts will prevent the rear compartment hinge from dropping into the rear compartment and causing damage.

    Remove 1 of the 2 rear compartment lid hinge bolts (1).

    Remove the final hinge bolt (1) while having an assistant hold the rear compartment lid hinge (2).
