Removal Procedure

    Reposition the seat as necessary to access the retaining clips.

  2. Using a flat - bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
  3. Front Floor Console Extension Panel - Right Side (1) - Remove

    Reposition the seat as necessary to access the retaining clips.

  5. Using a flat - bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.
  6. Front Floor Console Extension Panel - Left Side (1) - Remove

    Front Floor Console Bolt (1) - Remove [6x]

  8. Front Floor Console Bracket Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
  9. Disconnect the front floor console harness connector on both sides of the front floor console.
  10. Release the tabs (3) on both sides of the front floor console.

    Slide the front floor console (1) enough to clear the instrument panel lower center trim panel.

    Front Floor Console Variable 1 Liner (1) - Remove

  13. Front Floor Console Trim Plate Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]

    Front Floor Console Trim Plate (1) - Remove

  15. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Front Floor Console Rear Cover Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  17. Front Floor Console Rear Trim Panel (2) - Remove
  18. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  19. Remove the auxiliary power outlet fuse from the fuse block.

    Front Floor Console Cup Holder Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]

  21. Loosen the front floor console cup holder enough to release the retainer clip attached to the front floor console armrest (3).
  22. Front Floor Console Armrest Bolt (2) - Remove [7x]
  23. Front Floor Console Armrest (3) - Remove
  24. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Remove the front floor console accessory power rear receptacle (2):

    1. Look into the receptacle (2). There are two 3 mm (0.11 in) tab windows 12 mm (0.47 in) from the front of the receptacle. The EL - 42059  Cigar Lighter Socket Remover (1) pushes the plastic latches from these tab windows and the receptacle can be pulled straight out.
    2. Place one side of the "T" portion of the EL - 42059  Cigar Lighter Socket Remover (1) into the tab window. The EL - 42059  Cigar Lighter Socket Remover will not fit straight into the receptacle (2). Angle the EL - 42059  Cigar Lighter Socket Remover slightly for insertion into the receptacle.
    3. Insert the other side of the "T" into the opposite tab window.

      You must move the EL - 42059  Cigar Lighter Socket Remover (1) handle toward horizontal to engage the other tab window.

    4. Use the EL - 42059  Cigar Lighter Socket Remover (1) to pull the receptacle (2) straight out.
  26. If EL - 42059  Cigar Lighter Socket Remover (1) tool fails to release the receptacle (2) from the retainer, perform the following alternate method:
    1. Insert a small grinding tool with a cutoff wheel into the socket.
    2. Remove the plastic latches in the 3 mm (0.11 in) square windows.
    3. Use the EL - 42059  Cigar Lighter Socket Remover (1) as directed above to remove the socket.

    NOTE:

    Use a plastic trim tool if necessary.

    Pull out the front floor console accessory power rear receptacle retainer (1) till it stops.

    Tilt down and lift up to clear the bottom of the front floor console accessory power rear receptacle retainer (1).

    Turn the front floor console accessory power rear receptacle retainer (1) up and out of the armrest compartment.

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, release the retaining tabs.

  31. Multimedia Receptacle (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Observe the mounting and location of the wiring harness to ensure proper reinstallation.

    Release the front floor console compartment lamp wiring harness (1) from the front floor console compartment.

    Release the retaining tab.

  34. Front Floor Console Compartment Lamp (1) - Remove
