Installation Procedure
Wipe the oil pan surface with the Adhesion Plastic Pan Primer Promoter using a clean shop towel. Allow the cleaner to flash / evaporate. Wipe off the sealing surfaces with a lint free cloth. Do not touch the sealing surface after cleaning to avoid inducing containment debris to the bonding surface area. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant
- Apply a 3 mm bead of sealant (1) around the seal bead path, as shown.
Install EN-52483 Guide Pin in two locations to keep oil pan square and aid in alignment.
- Oil Pan (2) - Install
- Lower Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Install and hand tighten [4x]
- EN-52483 Guide Pins - Remove [2x]
- Lower Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Install and hand tighten [13x]
- Lower Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Tighten in sequence [17x] - Fastener Specifications
- Lower the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
- Fill the engine oil to the proper level with NEW engine oil. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
NOTE:
Do not allow sealant to skim over, the oil pan must be installed within 8 minutes of sealer application.
NOTE:
Install some lower oil pan bolts to secure the oil pan.
NOTE:
Install the remaining lower oil pan bolts.
