Installation Procedure

    With the aid of an assistant, position the instrument panel tie bar assembly into the vehicle (1)

  2. Install the instrument panel wiring harness to the position noted in the removal procedure.
  3. Connect and position the wiring harness.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications 

  5. Heater and Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Module Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [6x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Tie Bar Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Outer Air Outlet Inner Duct - Left Side (1) - Install

    Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct Bolt - Torx (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  19. Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  20. Connect the electrical connector.

    Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct - Left Side (1) - Install

    Side Window Defogger Outlet Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct (1) - Install

  24. Clip the harness onto the instrument panel center air outlet duct.

    Instrument Panel Center Air Outlet Duct Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Serial Data Gateway Bracket (2) - Install

  27. Serial Data Gateway Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  28. Connect and position the wiring harness.

    Typical wiring harness shown. Individual wiring harnesses may differ based on option content.

    Connect the electrical connectors (1)

    Install the windshield wiper system module (2) in the vehicle.

  32. Windshield Wiper System Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  33. Connect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector.
  34. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

    Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Install

    Air Inlet Grille Panel (2) - Install

    1. Install the air inlet grille panel (2) between both hood hinges.
    2. Connect the windshield washer nozzle hose to the windshield washer pump hose.
    3. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Install [6x]

    Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal (2) - Install [2x]

    1. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal Retainer (1) - Install
    2. Hood Rear Outer Air Inlet Seal (2) - Install

    Air Inlet Grille Panel Extension (1) - Install [2x]

    1. Install the air inlet grille panel extension (1).
    2. Remove the masking tape from the top edge of the service part.
    3. Using a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water with a clean towel, remove any left over adhesive residue from the masking tape.

    Windshield Wiper Arm (3) - Install [2x]

    1. Clean the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft splines with a soft wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arm (3).
    2. Position the windshield wiper arm (3) on the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft.
    3. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
    4. Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap (1) - Install

    If required, realign the windshield wipers to their respective alignment circles (1) on the windshield.

    1. Lubricate the windshield with clean washer fluid.
    2. Run the windshield wipers for two complete cycles then turn off the windshield wipers.
    3. Ensure the windshield wipers are in the full park position.
    4. Inspect the windshield wipers for proper position to the alignment circles (1) on the windshield.
