Removal Procedure
Refer to SIR Warning .
- Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling
Using a flat bladed plastic trim tool, start at the front and work your way back to release the clips.
- Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover - Right Side (1) - Remove
- {If equipped} Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- NOTE:
Prior to disconnecting the BCM, one or both front windows should be down to allow access into the vehicle once the door is closed.
Body Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove
- Unlock and lower the body control module bracket (2).
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Close and lock the body control module bracket (2) into the instrument panel lower trim panel insulator.
Instrument Panel Insulator Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]
- NOTE:
Use a plastic trim tool if necessary.
Release the front edge of the front floor console extension panel from the instrument panel lower trim panel insulator (1).
- Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator (1) - Remove
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Nut (1) - Remove [2x]
- Instrument Panel Lower Airbag - Passenger Side (2) - Remove
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
Instrument Panel Compartment Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]
Instrument Panel Compartment (1) - Remove
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Use a suitable tool to remove both of the instrument panel compartment door pins (1).
Use a suitable tool to release the instrument panel compartment door dampener clip (1).
Push in the instrument panel compartment door stop (1) to release the door.
