Installation Procedure

  1. Catalytic Converter Gasket - Install NEW
  2. GM5393690
    NOTE:

    Do not tighten the exhaust pipe clamp.

    Exhaust Pipe Clamp (1) - Install NEW

  3. GM5049638

    Turbocharger Heat Shield (2) - Install NEW

    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  4. Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger (1) - Install
  5. Turbocharger Bolt (3) - Install NEW and tighten in sequence [4x] - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket - Install NEW

  7. Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket (2) - Install NEW

  9. Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe (1) - Install
  10. GM5124376

    Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Install [2x] - Fastener Specifications

  11. GM5124375

    Turbocharger Coolant Return Hose Clamp (2) - Engage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  12. Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Install [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator - Connect

  14. Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (2) @ Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe - Install [2x]

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Turbocharger Bypass Valve Solenoid (2) - Connect

  16. GM5314511

    Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (2) @ Turbocharger (3) - Install

  17. Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
  18. GM5393690

    Exhaust Pipe Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Catalytic Converter Heat Shield (1) - Install

  20. GM5310138

    Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  21. Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Heat Shield (1) - Install

  23. GM5309985

    Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Install [3x] - Fastener Specifications

  24. Reposition and connect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Fitting Seal (4) - Install NEW [2x]

  26. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose (3) - Install
  27. Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  28. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Connector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  29. Connect the electrical connector.

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (2) - Install

  31. GM5300245

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (1) - Install

  32. Connect the electrical connector.

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (3) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  34. Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  35. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  36. Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716)
  37. Connect the battery. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  38. Check and fill engine oil to appropriate level.
  39. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
  40. Inspect the exhaust system for leaks.
