Installation Procedure

  1. Clean all sealing surfaces.

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator Gasket (2) - Install NEW

    3. NOTE:

    Check that the 2 pins (1) from the positive crankcase ventilation oil separator are aligned with the correct holes in the cylinder head.

  3. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator (3) - Install

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator Bolt (1) - Install [6x] - Fastener Specifications

  5. GM5314508

    Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe (2) - Install NEW and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  6. Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  7. GM5125430

    Engine Coolant Manifold Gasket (2) - Install NEW

  8. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe (1) - Install

    Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

  10. Install engine coolant air bleed pipe at the engine flow control valve and engage clamp.
  11. Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe - Install
  12. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Bolt - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Coolant Manifold Gasket (3) - Install NEW

  14. Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe (2) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Install
  15. Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Hose Clamp (2) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  21. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  22. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

  24. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  26. Transmission Fluid Auxiliary Cooler Bracket Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Coolant Return Hose (4) @ Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe - Install

  44. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (3) @ Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe - Install
  45. Heater Inlet Hose (2) @ Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe - Install
  46. Heater Inlet Hose Retainer - Engage
  47. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
  48. Electrical Connector @ Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor - Connect

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Fitting Seal (4) - Install NEW [2x]

  50. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose (3) - Install
  51. Retainer (2) - Clip
  52. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Connector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  53. Connect the crankcase pressure sensor electrical connector.

    Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose (2) @ Engine Coolant Heater Exhaust Pipe - Install

  55. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) - Install

    Position the intake manifold cover (1) in place.

  58. Install the oil fill cap.

    Plenum Front Panel (1) - Install

    Plenum Front Panel Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

  61. Plenum Front Panel Nut (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  62. Install the forward lamp wiring harness (3) into the plenum front panel.

    Plenum Front Panel Nut (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

  64. Plenum Front Panel Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  65. Install the forward lamp wiring harness (3) into the plenum front panel.
  66. Connect the electrical connector.

    Air Inlet Deflector Water Deflector (1) - Install

    Air Inlet Deflector Water Deflector Retainer (1) - Install [2x]

    Install the windshield wiper system module (2) in the vehicle.

  70. Windshield Wiper System Module Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  71. Connect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector.
  72. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection

    Windshield Wiper System Module Shield (1) - Install

    Install the air inlet grille panel (2) between both hood hinges.

  75. Connect the windshield washer nozzle hose to the windshield washer pump hose.
  76. Air Inlet Grille Panel Retainer (1) - Install [6x]

    Install the front compartment side sight shield (2) to the left and right side.

  78. Install the 2 front compartment side sight shield retainer (1) to the left and right side.

    Install the hood rear outer air inlet seal (2) to the left and right side.

  80. Install the 2 hood rear outer air inlet seal retainer (1) to the left and right side.

    Install the air inlet grille panel extension (1).

  82. Remove the masking tape from the top edge of the service part.
  83. Using a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and clean drinkable water with a clean towel, remove any left over adhesive residue from the masking tape.

    Clean the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft splines with a soft wire brush before installing the windshield wiper arm (3).

  85. Position the windshield wiper arm (3) on the windshield wiper transmission pivot shaft.
  86. Windshield Wiper Arm Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  87. Windshield Wiper Arm Finish Cap (1) - Install

    If required, realign the windshield wipers to their respective alignment circles (1) on the windshield.

  89. Lubricate the windshield with clean washer fluid.
  90. Run the windshield wipers for two complete cycles then turn off the windshield wipers.
  91. Ensure the windshield wipers are in the full park position.
  92. Inspect the windshield wipers for proper position to the alignment circles (1) on the windshield.
  93. Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716) , or
  94. Check the transmission fluid level. Transmission Fluid Level and Condition Check
