Installation Procedure

  1. GM5136171

    Oil Pump Suction Pipe Gasket (3) - Install NEW

  2. Oil Pump Screen (2) - Install
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  3. Oil Pump Screen Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  4. Clean all sealing surfaces.
  5. Spray Low LOC brake cleaner on the LCE sealing surface and wipe off with a clean shop towel. Avoided touching the surface after cleaning and air dry with shop air.
  6. Wipe the oil pan surface with the Adhesion Plastic Pan Primer Promoter with a clean shop towel. Allow the cleaner to flash / evaporate. Wipe off the sealing surfaces with a lint free cloth. Do not touch the sealing surface after cleaning to avoid inducing containment debris to the bonding surface area. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    NOTE:

    Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant

    Apply approximately a 4 mm (0.16 in) thick bead of sealant (1) to the lower oil pan. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    NOTE:
    • The engine block lower structural extension surface must be free of contamination prior to applying the sealer.
    • Install and align the oil pan to the block within 10 minutes after applying the sealer.
    • The oil pan must be fastened to final torque specification within 15 minutes after applying the sealer.

    Install the EN-52483  Guide Pins (1) in two locations to keep oil pan square.

  9. Lower Oil Pan (2) - Install
  10. Lower Oil Pan Bolt (3) - Install and tighten in sequence [18x] - Fastener Specifications
  11. Remove the EN-52483  Guide Pins (1).
  12. Install wiring harness retainers.

    Front Compartment Air Deflector (2) - Install

  14. Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  15. GM5396496

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  16. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  17. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  18. GM5396453

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

  19. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  20. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (3) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  21. GM5396438

    Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install [2x]

  22. Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications
  23. Fill the engine oil to the proper level with NEW engine oil. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (RWD) , or Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (AWD) 
  24. Perform the engine oil life reset. GM Oil Life System Resetting (With Scan Tool) , or GM Oil Life System Resetting (Without Scan Tool)
