Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Using the appropriate special tool (2) install the rear axle shaft seal (1).
- For vehicles without G80, use DT-52905 Axle Seal Installer
- For vehicles with G80, use DT-52906 Axle Seal Installer
Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Retaining Ring (2) - Install NEW - Fastener Specifications
- Rear Axle Shaft- Left Side (1) - Install
Position the rear wheel drive shaft (1) onto the rear axle shaft.
- NOTE:
The rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (1) and washers (2) are serviced as a rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer kit consisting of 2 bolts and 1 washer.
Due to the unknown shelf life, prepare the 6 NEW rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (1) for installation as follows:
- Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
- Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
- Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
- Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
- Install 3 NEW wheel drive shaft washers (2).
- Install and tighten the 6 rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (1) in a crisscross pattern. Fastener Specifications
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
