Installation Procedure

  1. GM5129963

    Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve (2) - Install

  2. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  4. Electrical Connector @ Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve - Connect
  5. GM5389826

    Wipe the oil pan surface with the Adhesion Plastic Pan Primer Promoter using a clean shop towel. Allow the cleaner to flash / evaporate. Wipe off the sealing surfaces with a lint free cloth. Do not touch the sealing surface after cleaning to avoid inducing containment debris to the bonding surface area. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  6. Ensure proper use of room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) sealant. Use of Room Temperature Vulcanizing (RTV) and Anaerobic Sealant
  7. NOTE:

    Do not allow sealant to skim over, the oil pan must be installed within 8 minutes of sealer application.

  8. Apply a 3 mm bead of sealant (1) around the seal bead path, as shown.
  9. GM5389827

    Install EN-52483  Guide Pin in two locations to keep oil pan square and aid in alignment.

  10. Oil Pan (2) - Install
  11. NOTE:

    Install some lower oil pan bolts to secure the oil pan.

  12. Lower Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Install [4x]
  13. EN-52483  Guide Pin - Remove [2x]
  14. NOTE:

    Install the remaining lower oil pan bolts.

  15. Lower Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Install [13x]
  16. Lower Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Tighten in sequence - [17x] Fastener Specifications
  17. Oil Filter - Install NEW - Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (RWD)
  18. Lower the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  19. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
