Installation Procedure

    NOTE:

    The guide pins in the retracted state will protrude approximately 5.05 mm (0.199 in) to 5.36 mm (0.211 in).

  1. Install a NEW camshaft position actuator solenoid valve seal and apply engine oil. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    2. CAUTION:

    The actuator pin MUST be retracted prior to installation. Failure to do so will cause damage to the engine.

  2. Camshaft Lobe Position Actuator - Intake (2) - Install
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Camshaft Position Actuator Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  4. Connect the camshaft lobe position actuator electrical connector.
  5. GM5432174

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install

  6. GM5432171

    Push down on the front of the intake manifold cover (2).

  7. Intake Manifold Cover Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  8. Install the oil fill cap.
