Installation Procedure

  1. GM5116204

    Install the turbocharger wastegate actuator (1) to the turbocharger assembly.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Turbocharger wastegate actuator bolt (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

  3. Prepare the 3 wastegate actuator bolts (1) for installation as follows: Remove all traces of the adhesive patch from the bolts and the mating threads using the appropriate tools. Clean the threads of the bolts and mating threads with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the bolt.
  4. GM5395175

    Install the compressor air intake turbo wastegate actuator rod (3) to the turbocharger assembly.

  5. Install the turbocharger wastegate actuator retainer (2).
  6. Install the turbocharger wastegate actuator spring (1).

    Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket (2) - Install NEW

  8. Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe (1) - Install

    Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Turbocharger Coolant Return Hose Clamp (2) - Engage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  11. Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Install [2x]
  12. GM5311257

    Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (2) @ Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe - Install [2x]

  13. Electrical Connector (1) @ Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator - Connect
  14. Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716)

    Turbocharger Heat Shield (1) - Install

  16. GM5309985

    Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Install [3x] - Fastener Specifications

  17. Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716)
  18. If replacing with new, perform the turbocharger wastegate learn. Turbocharger Wastegate Learn
