Installation Procedure

  1. GM5123952

    Water Outlet Seal (2) - Install NEW

  2. Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve (1) - Install
  3. GM5123951

    Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications

  4. GM5123949

    Electrical Connector (2) @ Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor - Connect

  5. Electrical Connector (1) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Connect [2x]

    Engine Oil Cooler Coolant Inlet Hose (4) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Install

  7. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (3) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Install
  8. Engine Coolant Air Bleed Hose (2) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Install
  9. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage [3x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Radiator Inlet Hose (3) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Install

  11. Thermostat Bypass Hose (2) @ Engine Coolant Flow Control Valve - Install
  12. Hose Clamp (1) - Engage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Intake Manifold Gasket (2) - Install NEW

    NOTE:

    Check that the 2 pins (4) of the intake manifold are seated correctly in the cylinder head.

    Intake Manifold (1) - Install

  15. Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube @ Intake Manifold - Install
  16. Connect throttle body electrical connector (1)

    Intake Manifold Bolt (1) - Tighten in sequence [7x] - Fastener Specifications

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Intake Air Pressure and Temperature Sensor - Connect

    Retainer Spring (1) - Engage

    Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Pipe Bracket - Install [2x]

  21. Radiator Surge Tank Oulet Hose Clip Bracket Nut - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Reposition the wiring harness (3) and connect as necessary.

  23. Retainer (1) @ Intake Manifold (2) - Install [5x]

    Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump (2) - Install

  25. Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications

    Evaporative Emission Pipe (1) @ Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  27. Connect the electrical connector.

    Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe (3) - Install

  29. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Pipe Bracket - Install
  30. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (2) @ Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Pipe Bracket - Install

    Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (2) @ Engine Wiring Harness - Install

  32. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (1) @ Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose - Install
  33. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clip (3) @ Fuel Pump Cover - Install

    Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose (2) @ Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe (3) - Install [2x]

  35. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose Clamp (1) @ Radiator Surge Tank Outlet Pipe (3) - Engage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

    Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install

  37. Upper Intake Manifold Cover Nut (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Upper Intake Manifold Cover Bracket Bolt (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Wiring Harness (4) - Reposition

  40. Retainer (2) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (3) - Install
  41. Electrical Connector (1) - Connect [3x]
  42. Ensure any remaining retainers are connected securely.

    Oil Level Indicator Tube Seal (2) - Install NEW

  44. Oil Level Indicator Tube (1) - Install

    Oil Level Indicator Tube Bracket Bolt (1) - Install - Fastener Specifications

  46. Electrical Connector (1) @ Oil Level Indicator (3) - Install

    Oil Level Indicator (1) - Install

    Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install

    NOTE:

    Ensure the engine sight shield retainers fully engage the intake manifold cover studs.

    Push down on the front of the intake manifold cover (1) engaging the intake manifold cover retainers to the intake manifold cover studs.

  50. Install the oil fill cap.
  51. Connect the battery. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  52. Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716) 
  53. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  54. Perform the engine coolant control valve learn. Engine Coolant Control Valve Learn 
  55. Perform the engine coolant pump data reset. Engine Coolant Pump Data Reset
