Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

    Push on the grille where indicated to create a opening for the flat-bladed plastic trim tool.

  3. Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool (1), release the retainer clips in a clockwise direction.

    Radio Front Center Speaker Grille (1) - Remove

    Radio Front Center Speaker Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  6. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    With a flat bladed plastic trim tool, start at the top to release the clip.

    With a flat bladed plastic trim tool, start at the top to release the clip.

    Radio Control Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  13. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  14. Radio Control (2) - Remove

    Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

  16. Instrument Panel Lower Airbag - Driver Side (2) - Remove
  17. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    With a flat bladed plastic trim tool, start at the front and work your way back to release the clips.

  19. Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover - Left Side (1) - Remove

    Disconnect the hood primary latch release cable end retainer from the hood primary latch release cable handle (1).

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator Retainer (1) - Remove

  22. Instrument Panel Insulator Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
  23. Instrument Panel Insulator Nut (3) - Remove [2x]

    NOTE:

    Use a plastic trim tool if necessary.

    Release the tabs from the instrument panel lower trim panel insulator (1).

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator (1) - Remove

  26. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Move the steering column up so you can access the lower left corner of the instrument panel center trim pad (1).

  28. Start with a flat-bladed plastic trim tool in the lower left corner of the instrument panel center trim pad (1) and work your way clockwise.

  30. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Data Link Connector Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

  32. Instrument Panel Knee Bolster Bolt (2) - Remove [3x]

    Release the clips with a suitable tool.

  34. Disconnect and reposition harness as necessary.
  35. Clear the instrument panel knee bolster deflector studs when removing the instrument panel knee bolster (1).

    Pull the windshield garnish moldings (1) rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.

  37. Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) which is located on the backside of the windshield garnish moldings (1) and secures the tether to the A pillar.
  38. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
  39. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  40. Windshield Garnish Molding (1) - Remove [2x]

    Using a flat-bladed plastic trim tool, release the retaining clips.

  42. Instrument Panel Extension (1) - Remove
  43. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Instrument Panel Instrument Cluster Hood (1) - Remove

    Extend the steering column to its furthest point to allow the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) to clear the instrument panel.

  46. Using a small plastic trim tool, separate the instrument panel steering column upper trim cover (1) from the instrument panel steering column lower trim cover.

    Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

    With a flat bladed plastic trim tool, start at the front and work your way back to release the clips.

  50. Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover - Right Side (1) - Remove
  51. { If equipped } Disconnect the electrical connector.

    NOTE:

    Prior to disconnecting the BCM, one or both front windows should be down to allow access into the vehicle once the door is closed.

    Body Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove

  53. Unlock and lower the body control module bracket (2).

    Instrument Panel Insulator Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

    Release the detent (2) from the instrument panel lower trim panel insulator.

  56. Detach the wiring harness clips (1) from the body control module bracket.
  57. Body Control Module (4) - Remove
  58. Disconnect the body control module connectors (3).

    NOTE:

    Use a plastic trim tool if necessary.

    Release the front edge of the front floor console extension panel from the instrument panel lower trim panel insulator (1).

    Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

  62. Instrument Panel Lower Airbag - Passenger Side (2) - Remove
