Installation Procedure
- It is necessary to perform the air conditioning compressor oil balance procedure when replacing the air conditioning compressor. Air Conditioning Compressor Oil Balancing
Maneuver the air conditioning compressor (3) into the engine compartment.
- Air Conditioning Compressor Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Air Conditioning Compressor Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
Air Conditioning Compressor Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
Engine Wiring Harness Connector Bracket (2) - Install
- Engine Wiring Harness Connector Bracket Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- CAUTION:
Refer to Air Conditioning Sealing Washers Oil or Lubricant Exposure Caution .
Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser Hose Seal (3) - Install NEW
- Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Seal (2) - Install NEW
- Air Conditioning Evaporative Connector Hose/Tube and Compressor Hose (1) @ Air Conditioning Compressor - Install
Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Nut (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
Connect the electrical connectors. (1) [3x]
Position the radiator inlet hose (2) to its original routing and fasten the radiator inlet hose clip (1).
- NOTE:
Some components not shown for graphic clarity.
Use the appropriate tool, rotate the drive belt tensioner (1) counterclockwise to install accessory drive primary belt (2) onto the air conditioning compressor (3).
- Rotate the drive belt tensioner (1) clockwise allowing tension to be applied to accessory drive primary belt (2).
- CAUTION:
Verify the charge air cooler inlet and outlet air tube quick connect seal condition and location prior to installation. Seal must be evenly seated in the quick connector body and sealing surface must be free of deformation and damage. Deformed or damaged seals can lead to reduced engine power and/or engine stalling.
NOTE:DO NOT insert fingers inside quick connect to manipulate duct during disassembly/assembly. Rubber pad gloves increase risk to dislodge seal.
Position charge air cooler outlet air tube (2) perpendicular to charge air cooler (3) and install.
- Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
- Verify connection is properly made by pulling and pushing on the tube at the quick connector location.
- NOTE:

Front Wheelhouse Liner- Left Side (3) - Install
- Front Wheelhouse Liner Retainer (2) - Install [4x]
- Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [7x] - Fastener Specifications
- NOTE:
- Some components not shown for graphic clarity.
- Quantity of fasteners may vary based on option content.
Engine Front Splash Shield (3) - Install
- Engine Front Splash Shield Screw (1) - Install and tighten [5x] - Fastener Specifications
- Front Compartment Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
Front Bumper Upper Fascia Screw (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Screw (1) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
- NOTE:
Quantity of fasteners may vary based on option content.
Front Tire Front Air Deflector (2) - Install
- Front Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
- Install the left front tire and wheel. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
- CAUTION:

Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Tube (2) @ Throttle Body (3) - Install
- Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
- Recharge the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
- Inspect for refrigerant leaks.
- Start vehicle and listen for whistling at the charge air cooler outlet air tube quick connect located at the charge air cooler.
