Circuit/System Testing

With RPO UE1

  1. Vehicle off, disconnect the GPS coax cable connector at the K73 Telematic Control Module.
  2. Attach both leads of the EL-49903 - 1 OnStar test antenna to the EL-49903 - 5 combiner. Using the EL-49903 - 6 coax cable attach the grey connector to the combiner and the brown connector to the K73 Telematics Control Module. Place the test antenna on the roof of the vehicle, ignition ON.
  3. Verify DTC B13AA is not set or that a GPS signal is received.
    • If DTC B13AA is set or no GPS signal is received. 

      Replace the K73 Telematic Control Module.

    • Go to next step: If DTC B13AA is not set or a GPS signal is received. 
  4. Vehicle off, disconnect the EL-49903-1  OnStar Test Antenna, Navn-Cell Comn from the K73 Telematic Control Module.
  5. Disconnect the GPS coax cable at the T4P High Frequency Antenna and at the T15 Navigation Signal Splitter.
  6. Test the coax cables between the T15 Navigation Signal Splitter and the K73 Telematic Control Module and the T15 Navigation Signal Splitter and the T4P High Frequency Antenna. Refer to component testing.
    • If either of the coax cables do not pass the test 

      Replace the coax cable.

    • Go to next step: If the coax cables pass the test 
  7. Test or replace the T4P High Frequency Antenna.

Without RPO UE1

  1. Vehicle off, disconnect the GPS coax cable connector at the A11 Radio.
  2. Attach the blue connector from the EL-49903 - 1 OnStar test antenna to the A11 Radio. Place the test antenna on the roof of the vehicle, ignition ON.
  3. Verify DTC B13AA is not set or that a GPS signal is received.
    • If DTC B13AA is set or no GPS signal is received. 

      Replace the A11 Radio.

    • Go to next step: If DTC B13AA is not set or a GPS signal is received. 
  4. Vehicle off, disconnect the EL-49903-1  OnStar Test Antenna, Navn-Cell Comn from the A11 Radio.
  5. Disconnect the GPS coax cable at the T4P High Frequency Antenna and at the T15 Navigation Signal Splitter.
  6. Test the coax cables between the T15 Navigation Signal Splitter and the A11 Radio and the T15 Navigation Signal Splitter and the T4P High Frequency Antenna. Refer to component testing.
    • If either of the coax cables do not pass the test 

      Replace the coax cable.

    • Go to next step: If the coax cables pass the test 
  7. Test or replace the T4P High Frequency Antenna.
