Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the connector at the appropriate B166 Advanced Parking Assist Alarm Sensor:
    • DTC B13B0 = B166M Advanced Parking Assist Alarm Sensor - Side Left Rear
    • DTC B13B1 = B166N Advanced Parking Assist Alarm Sensor - Side Right Rear
  2. Verify a test lamp illuminates between low reference circuit terminal 3 and B+
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate
    1. Test circuit 2379 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    2. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module
    • Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
  3. Ignition ON.
  4. Test for greater than 6 V between voltage reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If 6 V or less
    1. Test circuit 2374 for a short to ground.
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
    2. Test circuit 2374 for an open/high resistance
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    3. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module
    • Go to next step: If greater than 6 V
  5. Test for 4.0 - 12.0 V between signal circuit terminal 2 and ground.
    • If less than 4.0 V
    1. Test the appropriate circuit for a short to ground:
      • DTC B13B0 = Circuit 3156
      • DTC B13B1 = Circuit 3157
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
    2. Test the appropriate circuit for an open/high resistance:
      • DTC B13B0 = Circuit 3156
      • DTC B13B1 = Circuit 3157
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    3. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module
    • If greater than 12.0 V
    1. Test the appropriate circuit for a short to voltage:
      • DTC B13B0 = Circuit 3156
      • DTC B13B1 = Circuit 3157
      • If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found
    2. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module
    • Go to next step: If between 4.0 - 12.0 V
  6. Replace the appropriate B166 Advanced Parking Assist Alarm Sensor.
