Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the connector at the appropriate B166 Advanced Parking Assist Alarm Sensor:
    • DTC B13AE = B166K Advanced Parking Assist Alarm Sensor - Side Left Front
    • DTC B13AF = B166L Advanced Parking Assist Alarm Sensor - Side Right Front
  2. Verify a test lamp illuminates between low reference terminal 3 and B+
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate
    1. Test circuit 5214 for an open/high resistance.
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    2. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module
    • Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
  3. Ignition ON.
  4. Test for greater than 6 V between voltage reference terminal 1 and ground.
    • If 6 V or less
    1. Test circuit 6581 for a short to ground.
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
    2. Test circuit 6581 for an open/high resistance
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    3. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module
    • Go to next step: If greater than 6 V
  5. Test for 4.0 - 12.0 V between terminal 2 and ground.
    • If less than 4.0 V
    1. Test the appropriate circuit for a short to ground:
      • DTC B13AE = Circuit 3154
      • DTC B13AF = Circuit 3155
      • If a short to ground is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
    2. Test the appropriate circuit for an open/high resistance:
      • DTC B13AE = Circuit 3154
      • DTC B13AF = Circuit 3155
      • If an open/high resistance is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
    3. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module
    • If greater than 12.0 V
    1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 connector at the K182 Parking Assist Control Module.
    2. Test the appropriate circuit for a short to voltage:
      • DTC B13AE = Circuit 3154
      • DTC B13AF = Circuit 3155
      • If a short to voltage is found, repair the fault on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found
    3. Replace the K182 Parking Assist Control Module
    • Go to next step: If between 4.0 - 12.0 V
  6. Replace the appropriate B166 Advanced Parking Assist Alarm Sensor.
