Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Ensure that the rear suspension cradle is securely attached to the jack/support stand.
Using the GE-52200 Lifting Table, raise the rear suspension cradle 6 - 8 inches from the vehicle and install available electrical connectors and retainers.
- Rear Suspension Cradle (1) - Install
Install the CH-51034-A Cradle Alignment Pins (1) to align the rear cradle to the body.
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Rear Suspension Cradle Front Bolt (2) - Install NEW and hand tighten [2x]
- Rear Suspension Cradle Rear Bolt (1) Install NEW and tighten [2x]
- First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb ft)
- Final Pass: (90 - 105 degrees)
- Remove the GE-52200 Lifting Table from under the vehicle.
- Remove the jack stand(s) from the front of the vehicle.
Using a suitable jack stand (1), support the differential carrier.
Position a block of wood (1) and a suitable jack stand (2) between the frame of the vehicle and the left rear suspension bracket.
- NOTE:
DO NOT raise the vehicle higher than necessary.
Using the block of wood and a suitable jack stand (1), raise the vehicle just enough to reposition the hoist pad (2) from under the vehicle.
DO NOT ATTEMPT OTHER REPAIRS WITH JACK STANDS IN PLACE.
Rear Suspension Cradle Front Bolt - Left Side (1) - Remove
Install the left rear suspension bracket. Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement - Front
Reposition the hoist lift pad (2) back underneath the vehicle.
- Using the jack stand (1) and the block of wood, slowly lower the vehicle back on the hoist pad (2).
Remove the jack stand (2) and the block of wood (1) from underneath the vehicle.
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Position a block of wood (1) and a suitable jack stand (2) between the frame of the vehicle and the right rear suspension bracket.
- NOTE:
- Left side shown, right side similar.
- DO NOT raise the vehicle higher than necessary.
Using the block of wood and a suitable jack stand (1), raise the vehicle just enough to reposition the hoist pad (2) from under the vehicle.
DO NOT ATTEMPT OTHER REPAIRS WITH JACK STANDS IN PLACE.
Rear Suspension Cradle Front Bolt - Right Side (1) - Remove
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Install the right rear suspension bracket. Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement - Front
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Reposition the hoist lift pad (2) back underneath the vehicle.
- Using the jack stand (1) and the block of wood, slowly lower the vehicle back on the hoist pad (2).
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Remove the jack stand (2) and the block of wood (1) from underneath the vehicle.
Remove the jack stand (1) supporting the differential carrier.
- NOTE:

Install the left and right rear suspension brackets. Rear Suspension Bracket Replacement - Rear
- Remove the suitable jack/support stand.
- Reposition and connect the wiring harness to the rear cradle as necessary.
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Install the left and right rear brake caliper brackets and brake calipers (2) as assemblies.
- Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Rear Brake Hose Clip Bolt - Left Side and Right Side (1) @ Rear Suspension Upper Control Arm - Install and tighten - Rear Brake Hose Replacement (J56, JL9) , or Rear Brake Hose Replacement (J6H) , or Rear Brake Hose Replacement (J57)
- NOTE:

Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x] - Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Replacement
- NOTE:
Left side shown, right side similar.
Rear Suspension Upper Trailing Link - Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x] - Rear Suspension Upper Trailing Link Replacement (FE2, FE3) , or Rear Suspension Upper Trailing Link Replacement (FE4)
Propeller Shaft (1) - Install - Propeller Shaft Replacement (without LT4) , or Propeller Shaft Replacement (AWD)
- Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Wheel Alignment Measurement
Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .
Vehicle alignment is not required if cradle is being lowered or dropped to perform another procedure. This vehicle is equipped with a cradle to body aligning feature: cradle to body through holes or self-aligning pins that are part of cradle or body. Only align if replacing the cradle with new part and transferring components.
