Single Use Fasteners and Components

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Drain the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LT4 Static Fill) Cooling System Draining and Filling (LT4 GE 47716) 
  2. Drain the engine oil. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
  3. Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement (LT4) @Engine Oil Cooler - Disconnect
  4. Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LT4) @Engine Oil Cooler - Disconnect
1 Engine Oil Cooler Bolt [4x]
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
2 Engine Oil Cooler
NOTE:

Whenever the engine oil cooler lines are detached, the quick connect fitting must be replaced. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Pipe/Hose Quick Connect Fitting Replacement (LT4) .

Procedure

  1. Clean the engine oil cooler housing to engine block sealing surfaces.
  2. If reinstalling the existing engine oil cooler, refer to Engine Oil Cooler Cleaning and Inspection .
  3. Install a NEW seal. [2x]
  4. Fill the engine oil to proper level. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers , and Approximate Fluid Capacities
