Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Clean all sealing surfaces.

    Engine Coolant Manifold Gasket (2) - Install a NEW gasket. [2x]

  3. Engine Coolant Manifold (3) - Install
  4. If NEW threaded components are being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded components are reused, prepare the threaded components using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the components using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned components into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the components. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  5. Engine Coolant Manifold Bolt (1) - Hand tighten [6X]

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Engine Coolant Manifold Bolt - Tighten in sequence [6X] 25 N.m (18 lb ft)

    Engine Oil Cooler Hose Retainer (2) - Install

  8. Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (1) - Connect

    Clip (1) @Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator Drain - Engage

    Engine Wiring Harness Bracket (3) - Install

  11. Engine Wiring Harness Bracket Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  12. Engine Wiring Harness Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)

    Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Install

  14. Electrical Connector (1) - Connect

    Engine Wiring Harness Connector Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x]

    10 N.m (89 lb in)

    Radiator Outlet Hose (5) - Connect

  17. Heater Inlet Hoseand Heater Outlet Hose (4) - Connect
  18. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (3) - Connect [3x]
  19. Radiator Inlet Hose (2) - Connect
  20. Radiator Surge Tank Inlet Hose (1) - Connect

    Drive Belt (2) - Install - Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory

  22. Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LT4 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LT4 GE 47716) 
  23. Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
