Installation Procedure
Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm (1) - Install
- CAUTION:
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Inner Bolt (3) - Install NEW
- Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Inner Washer (2) - Install
- Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Inner Nut (1) - Install and hand tighten
- NOTE:
Correctly orient the rear coil spring as noted upon removal of the rear suspension lower control arm.
Rear Coil Spring (1) - Install
- Support the rear suspension lower control arm (2) with an appropriate jack stand.
- Slowly lower the vehicle to apply tension on the rear coil spring (1) and rotate the rear suspension lower control arm (2) and align the rear suspension lower control arm (2) with the rear suspension knuckle.
Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Outer Bolt (3) - Install NEW
- Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Outer Nut (1) - Install, but do NOT tighten
- Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Outer Bolt (3) - Tighten
- First Pass: 150 N.m (111 lb ft)
- Final Pass: 90 - 105 degrees
Rear Shock Absorber Bolt (2) @Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm (3) - Install NEW and tighten - Rear Shock Absorber Replacement (FE3, FE4 with F55) , or Rear Shock Absorber Replacement (FE2, FE3 without F55)
- Remove the jack stand from beneath the rear suspension lower control arm.
Rear Suspension Lower Control Arm Cover (2) - Install
- Install the 4 rear spring pins (1).
- Install the rear tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (without J57) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (with J57)
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- Adjust the rear camber. Rear Camber Adjustment
The final torque on the rear suspension lower control arm inner nut (1) is to be applied during the rear camber setting procedure.
