Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (without J57) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (with J57)

    Front Compartment Air Deflector (1) - Remove - Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (RWD) , or Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (Blackwing)

  4. Front Stabilizer Shaft Link@Front Stabilizer Shaft - Separate [2x] - Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (FE2) , or Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (FE3, FE4)

    CAUTION:

    Use caution when removing components surrounding the Steering Gear Boots. Avoid tool contact with the steering gear boot and clamps. Damage to the steering gear boot may lead to dirt and water contamination in the steering gear rack and components requiring a preventable replacement of the Steering Gear and its Components.

    Using a swivel socket, remove the 2 left side front stabilizer shaft insulator clamp nuts (2) and front stabilizer shaft clamp (1).

    Using a swivel socket, remove the 2 right side front stabilizer shaft insulator clamp nuts (2) and front stabilizer shaft clamp (1).

    NOTE:

    The front stabilizer shaft insulators are NOT serviceable. Do NOT transfer the insulators.

    Remove the front stabilizer shaft (1) from the vehicle by manipulating it through the engine wiring harness and chassis components.
