Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (without J57) , or Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (with J57)

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector (1) - Remove - Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Replacement

    Front Compartment Air Deflector (1) - Remove - Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (RWD) , or Front Compartment Air Deflector Replacement (Blackwing)

  5. If equipped, unclip the electronic suspension wheel front vertical accelerometer retainers from the front lower control front link. Electronic Suspension Wheel Front Vertical Accelerometer Replacement (FE2, FE3) , or Electronic Suspension Wheel Front Vertical Accelerometer Replacement (FE4)

    { If equipped }Front Brake Rotor Cooling Duct Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [3x]

    { If equipped }Front Brake Rotor Cooling Duct Deflector (1) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Do NOT allow the ball stud to rotate while loosening the nut.

    Front Lower Control Arm Ball Stud Nut (1) - Loosen

    Using the CH-42188-B  Ball Joint Separator (1), separate the front lower control front link from the steering knuckle.

    Front Lower Control Arm Ball Stud Nut (1) - Remove

    Front Lower Control Arm Front Nut (1) - Remove

  12. Front Lower Control Arm Front Bolt (2) - Remove and DISCARD

    Front Lower Control Front Link (1) - Remove
