Assembly Procedure

  1. Lubricate the outer surface of the caliper pistons with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    NOTE:

    Ensure the seal is not twisted.

    Lubricate and install the 2 new caliper piston seals (1) with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    NOTE:

    Ensure the seal is not twisted.

    Lubricate and install the 2 new caliper piston seals (1) with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

    Install the 2 caliper pistons (1) into the caliper bores.

  5. Carefully push the pistons squarely into the brake caliper housing bores.

    Install the 2 caliper pistons (1) into the caliper bores.

  7. Carefully push the pistons squarely into the brake caliper housing bores.

    Install the 2 new caliper piston boots (1) into the counterbores of the brake calipers.

  9. Seat the 2 new caliper piston boots (1) evenly and completely into the grooves in the caliper housing.

    Install the 2 new caliper piston boots (1) into the counterbores of the brake calipers.

  11. Seat the 2 new caliper piston boots (1) evenly and completely into the grooves in the caliper housing.

    Front Brake Caliper Bleeder Valve (2) Install - Front Brake Caliper Bleeder Valve Replacement (J56) 

  13. Front Brake CaliperInstall - Front Brake Caliper Replacement (J56) 
  14. Bleed the brake system. Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (J56)
  15. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  16. Check the brake system for leaks.
