Removal Procedure

  1. Prepare the electronic brake control module for removal with Service Programming System (SPS) and follow the on-screen instructions.
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  3. Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace - Remove - Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Replacement (Impact Bar Bracket) , or Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Replacement (Plenum without Blackwing) , or Front End Sheet Metal Cross Brace Replacement (Plenum with Blackwing)

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Brake Fluid Level Sensor - Disconnect

    Electrical Connector (1) @ Brake System Control Module - Disconnect

    NOTE:

    Label the brake pipes to ensure they are re-installed in the correct ports of the brake master cylinder.

  7. Brake Master Cylinder Nut (1) - Disconnect [4x] - Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Pipe Replacement 
  8. Plug the brake master cylinder ports and the brake pipes to stop fluid loss and contamination.
  9. Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator - Remove - Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator Replacement - Left Side

    Brake Master Cylinder Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

    Depress the brake pedal retainer (1) locking tabs.

  12. Pull the brake pedal (2) outwards to release it from the brake pedal retainer (1).
  13. Remove and DISCARD the brake pedal retainer (1).

    Brake Master Cylinder (1) - Remove

    Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Bolt (2) - Remove

  16. Lift the front of the brake master cylinder reservoir (1) upwards and remove from the brake master cylinder.

    Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir Grommet (1) - Remove and DISCARD [3x]
