Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
  2. Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging

    Remove the engine control module (1) and position out of the way.

    Engine Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

    Remove the engine control module bracket (1) and position out of the way.

    Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Loosen

  7. Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Remove
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector. (3)
  9. Engine Wiring Harness Bolt (4) - Remove [2x]
  10. Radiator Air Side Upper Baffle Retainer (5) - Remove [2x]

    Disconnect the electrical connector. (1)

  12. Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]
  13. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (3) - Loosen

    Battery Distribution Engine Compartment Fuse Block (2) - Remove - Battery Distribution Engine Compartment Fuse Block Replacement (LGY)

    Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) - Remove

  16. Auxiliary Generator Battery Jumper Cable (2) - Remove
  17. Battery Positive Cable (3) - Remove

    Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block (2) - Remove - Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block Replacement

    Disengage the 2 retaining covers (2), and remove the electrical connectors (1).

    Disengage the 3 retaining tabs (1), from the body wiring harness junction block bracket (3), and remove the engine wiring harness fuse block bracket (2).

    Position the battery cables (1) out of the way to gain access to the air cleaner bolt (2).

    Remove the air cleaner assembly. (1)

    Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose Clamp (1) - Disengage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type

  25. Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose (2) - Remove
  26. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (3) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
  27. Retaining Clip (4) - Disengage

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (1) - Disconnect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  29. Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator-Left Side (2) - Remove

    Accessory Drive Primary Belt (1) @ Air Conditioning Compressor - Remove - Accessory Drive Primary Belt Replacement

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Air Conditioning Compressor Clutch Pulley Bolt (1) - Remove

  32. Air Conditioning Compressor Clutch Drive Plate (2) - Remove
  33. NOTE:

    The air conditioning clutch shim count will vary for each air conditioning compressor. Be sure to verify the number of shims once the clutch is removed.

  34. Air Conditioning Clutch Shim(s) (3) - Remove
