Installation Procedure
- NOTE:
Use the original shim count as a starting point to determine the proper air gap for the air conditioning clutch plate.
Install the air conditioning clutch shim(s) (3) as needed to achieve the appropriate air gap of 0.21 - 0.55 mm (0.008 - 0.021 in).
- Air Conditioning Compressor Clutch Drive Plate (2) - Install
- Air Conditioning Compressor Clutch Pulley Bolt (1) - Install and hand tighten
- NOTE:
Some components not shown for graphic clarity.
Measure the air gap between air conditioning clutch drive plate (1) and the air conditioning compressor pulley (3) using the appropriate feeler gauge (4).
- If the air gap is out of range remove the air conditioning clutch drive plate, and add or remove shims as need to achieve the appropriate air gap.
- Remove air conditioning clutch drive plate (1) and repeat steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 as necessary to adjust the air gap.
- Air Conditioning Compressor Clutch Pulley Bolt (2) - Tighten - Air Conditioning Clutch Replacement (LGY)
- Ensure the air conditioning compressor clutch does not drag against the air conditioning compressor clutch pulley when the pulley is rotated.
Accessory Drive Primary Belt (1) @ Air Conditioning Compressor - Install - Accessory Drive Primary Belt Replacement
Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator-Left Side (2) - Install
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (1) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
Retaining Clip (4) - Engage
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (3) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose (2) - Install
- Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose Clamp (1) - Engage - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
Install the air cleaner assembly. (1)
- NOTE:
Refer to the procedure link for torque specification.
Air Cleaner Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
- Return the battery cables (1) back to there original position.
Install the engine wiring harness fuse block bracket (2) by engaging the 3 retaining tabs (1), to the body wiring harness junction block bracket (3).
Engage the 2 retaining covers (2), and install the electrical connectors (1).
Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block (2) - Install - Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block Replacement
Battery Positive Cable (3) - Install
- Auxiliary Generator Battery Jumper Cable (2) - Install
- Battery Positive Cable Nut (1) @ Engine Wiring Harness Fuse Block Bracket - Install and tighten - Engine Wiring Harness Junction Block Replacement
Battery Distribution Engine Compartment Fuse Block (2) - Install - Battery Distribution Engine Compartment Fuse Block Replacement (LGY)
- NOTE:
Refer to the procedure link for torque specification.
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (3) - Tighten - Auxiliary Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
- Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
- Connect the electrical connector. (1)
Radiator Air Side Upper Baffle Retainer (5) - Install [2x]
- Engine Wiring Harness Bolt (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement
- Connect the electrical connector. (3)
- Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Install
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Tighten - Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement
Engine Control Module Bracket (1) - Install
- NOTE:
Refer to the procedure link for torque specification.
Engine Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [4x] - Engine Control Module Bracket Replacement
Engine Control Module (1) - Install
- Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Recharge the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging
- Inspect for refrigerant leaks.
