Circuit/System Description

The K9 Body Control Module provides the E7 Rear License Plate Lamp with approximately 7.5 V to the signal circuit 5797. When the switch is pressed, the K9 Body Control Module will detect the voltage drop in the signal circuit 5797 and will provide a 12 V pulse to the control circuit 6128 which will cause the M40 Rear Compartment Lid Latch to activate and release the rear compartment lid.

The S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch - Driver provides the S58B Rear Compartment Lid Release Switch - Interior with approximately 12 V to the signal circuit 6189. When the switch is pressed, the S79D Front Side Door Window Control Switch - Driver will detect the voltage drop in the signal circuit 6189 and will send a serial data message to the K9 Body Control Module release the rear compartment lid.
