Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose Replacement - Right Side: Notes

Refer to SIR Warning .

CAUTION:

If a vehicle is equipped with a head curtain inflator module ensure that the inflator module and tether are undamaged. If tether or curtain airbag are damaged in any way, they must be replaced.

CAUTION:

Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

  1. Disable the SIR system. SIR Disabling and Enabling

    Pull the windshield garnish molding (1) rearwards to release the tether from the A pillar.

  3. Access the windshield garnish bolt (2) which is located on the backside of the windshield garnish molding (1) and secures the tether to the A pillar.
  4. Windshield Garnish Molding Bolt (2) - Remove
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Open the sunshade support bolt access cover with an appropriate tool.

    CAUTION:

    Do not exert downward force at the forward or rearward edge of the roof console assembly as irreversible damage will occur.

    With a flat-bladed trim tool, release the tab on the left side at the most rearward of the roof console (1) and pull down on console, then release the retaining clip in the middle of the console and pull down, then release the retaining clip at the most forward of the console and pull down the console.

  10. With a flat-bladed trim tool, release the tab on the right side at the most rearward of the roof console (1) and pull down on console, then release the retaining clip in the middle of the console and pull down, then release the retaining clip at the most forward of the console and pull down the console.

    Pull the roof console (1) rearward to remove the front roof console tab from the headliner.

  12. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Windshield Multifunction Sensor Mount Bracket Cover Insert (1) - Remove

    Using a suitable plastic trim tool, carefully pry downward on the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (1) to release it from the windshield.

  15. Pull downward to remove the windshield multifunction sensor mount bracket cover (1) from the windshield.

    Fold the assist handle downward and hold. (2)

  17. Use a small flat-bladed tool to open the assist handle covers to access the bolts.
  18. Roof Rail Assist Handle Bolt (1) - Remove [2x]

    CAUTION:

    Use care when working around the head curtain inflator module. Sharp tools may puncture the curtain airbag. If the head curtain inflator module is damaged in any way, it must be replaced.

    NOTE:

    Left side shown, right side similar.

    Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Bolt Cap (1) - Remove

  21. Center Pillar Upper Garnish Molding Bolt (2) - Remove

    NOTE:

    Left side shown, right side similar.

    Pull the trim panel toward the inside of the vehicle to disengage the retainers on both sides of the vehicle.

  23. Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel (1) - Reposition

    Sunshade Retainer Bolt Cover (1) - Remove

  25. Sunshade Bolt (2) - Remove [2x]
  26. Sunshade (3) - Remove
    1. Squeeze the tabs at the base of the sunshade to detach it from the roof panel and allow the headliner with the sunshade attached to be lowered.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    3. Release the retainer attaching the sunshade to the headlining trim panel.

    With a flat bladed plastic trim tool, start at the front and work your way back to release the clips.

  28. Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover - Right Side (1) - Remove
  29. { If equipped } Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Body Control Module Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove

  31. Unlock and lower the body control module bracket (2).
  32. Disconnect and reposition harness as necessary.

    Instrument Panel Insulator Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  34. NOTE:

    Use a plastic trim tool if necessary.

  35. Release the tab from the instrument panel lower trim panel insulator.

    Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Insulator (1) - Remove

  37. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Instrument Panel Lower Airbag Nut (1) - Remove [2x]

  39. Instrument Panel Lower Airbag - Passenger Side (2) - Remove
  40. Disconnect the electrical connector.

    Instrument Panel Compartment Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]

    Instrument Panel Compartment (1) - Remove

  43. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

    Release the sunroof housing front drain hose clip (1).

    Reposition the body hinge pillar sound barrier as needed.

  46. Sunroof Housing Front Drain Hose (1) @ Body Hinge Pillar Outer Panel - Disconnect

    Lower the right front section of the headlining trim panel (1).

    Reposition the wiring harness.

  49. Release the 3 sunroof housing front drain hose clips (1).

    NOTE:

    Observe the routing and location of the sunroof housing front drain hose to ensure proper reinstallation.
