Assemble Procedure

  1. GM5043411

    Apply Loctite to tube. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

  2. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (1) - Install
  3. Balancer Shaft Housing Locating Pin (2) - Install [2x]
  4. Engine Block Lower Structural Extension Pin (3) - Install [2x]
  5. Engine Block Lower Structural Extension Core Hole Plug (4) - Install
  6. Engine Block Lower Structural Extension Oil Gallery Plug (5) - Install
  7. Engine Block Lower Structural Extension Oil Gallery Plug (6) - Install
  8. GM5043412

    Balancer Driven Shaft (1) - Install

  9. Balancer Drive Shaft (2) - Install
  10. Lubricate the bearings. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
  11. Balancer Shaft Bearing (3) - Install [10x]
  12. Balancer Shaft Bearing Cap (4) - Install
    13. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  13. Balancer Shaft Housing Bolt (5) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
  14. GM5331279

    Oil Pump Gasket (1) - Install NEW

  15. Oil Pump (2) - Install
    16. CAUTION:

    Ensure the splines on the oil pump drive shaft are properly aligned to mesh into the oil pump vane rotor during oil pump drive shaft installation. Excessive force on the oil pump driveshaft during installation into the oil pump may result in damage to the oil pump vane rotor.

  16. Oil Pump Drive Shaft (3) - Install
  17. Balancer Shaft Lower Housing (4) - Install
  18. Oil Pump Bolt (5) - Install and tighten [4x] - Fastener Specifications
  19. GM5043413

    Balancer Shaft Lower Housing (1) - Install

  20. Balancer Shaft Housing Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [7x] - Fastener Specifications
  21. GM5043414

    Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve (1) - Install

  22. Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  23. Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Wire Clip (3) - Install NEW [2x]
  24. Oil Pump Flow Control Valve Seal (4) - Install NEW
  25. Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Wire (5) - Install
  26. Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Bolt (6) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  27. GM5043407

    Engine Oil Cooler Seal (1) - Install NEW [2x]

  28. Oil Pan High Pressure Port Seal (2) - Install NEW
  29. Pins (3) is press fit and not serviceable separately.
  30. Lower Crankcase Extension - Install - Lower Crankcase Extension Replacement (AWD) , or Lower Crankcase Extension Replacement (RWD)
