Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  2. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation

    Remove the 2 chassis harness retainers (1), if equipped.

    { If equipped } Front Brake Rotor Cooling Duct Deflector Bolt (2) - Remove [3x]

  5. { If equipped } Front Brake Rotor Cooling Duct Deflector (1) - Remove
  6. Place match marks on the steering linkage inner tie rod nut and the steering linkage inner tie rod.

    Steering Linkage Inner Tie Rod Nut (1) - Loosen

  8. Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Nut (2) - Loosen

    CAUTION:

    Do not attempt to disconnect a steering linkage joint by driving a wedge between the joint and the attached part. Seal damage may result which will cause premature failure of the joint.

    NOTE:

    Some components not shown for graphic clarity.

    Using the CH-42188-B  Ball Joint Separator (1) separate the steering linkage outer tie rod (2) from the steering knuckle.

    Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Nut (1) - Remove
