Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT4. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Inspect the appropriate wheel speed sensor for damage or incorrect part
- If a condition exists
Replace the appropriate Wheel Speed Sensor
- Go to next step: If no conditions exist
- If a condition exists
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the K160 Brake System Control Module, ignition ON.
- Test for less than 1 V between the appropriate signal circuit terminal and ground:
- B5LF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Terminal 21
- B5RF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Terminal 42
- B5LR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Terminal 39
- B5RR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Terminal 20
- If 1 V or greater
- Test the appropriate circuits for a short to voltage:
- B5LF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Circuit 7064 and circuit 830
- B5RF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Circuit 7065 and circuit 872
- B5LR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Circuit 7127 and circuit 884
- B5RR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Circuit 7128 and circuit 882
- If a short to voltage is found, repair the circuit fault.
- Go to next step: If a short to voltage is not found
- Replace the appropriate B5 Wheel Speed Sensor.
- Go to next step: If less than 1 V
- Ignition OFF.
- Test for infinite resistance between the appropriate signal circuit terminal and ground:
- B5LF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Terminal 21
- B5RF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Terminal 42
- B5LR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Terminal 39
- B5RR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Terminal 20
- If less than infinite resistance
- Test the appropriate circuits for a short to ground:
- B5LF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Circuit 7064 and circuit 830
- B5RF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Circuit 7065 and circuit 872
- B5LR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Circuit 7127 and circuit 884
- B5RR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Circuit 7128 and circuit 882
- If a short to ground is found, repair the circuit fault.
- Go to next step: If a short to ground is not found
- Replace the appropriate B5 Wheel Speed Sensor.
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than infinite resistance between the appropriate signal circuit terminals:
- B5LF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Terminal 21 and terminal 7
- B5RF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Terminal 42 and terminal 26
- B5LR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Terminal 39 and terminal 23
- B5RR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Terminal 20 and terminal 37
- If infinite resistance
- Test the appropriate circuits for an open/high resistance:
- B5LF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Circuit 7064 and circuit 830
- B5RF Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Circuit 7065 and circuit 872
- B5LR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Left = Circuit 7127 and circuit 884
- B5RR Rear Wheel Speed Sensor - Right = Circuit 7128 and circuit 882
- If an open/high resistance is found, repair the circuit fault.
- Go to next step: If an open/high resistance is not found
- Replace the appropriate B5 Wheel Speed Sensor.
- Go to next step: If less than infinite resistance
- Replace the appropriate B5 Wheel Speed Sensor.
- Clear DTCs and operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC.
- Verify the DTC does not reset.
- If the DTC resets
Replace the K160 Brake System Control Module.
- Go to next step: If the DTC does not reset
- If the DTC resets
- All OK.
NOTE:
Use the DTC descriptor to determine the appropriate B5 Wheel Speed Sensor to perform testing on.
