Removal Procedure
Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter (1) - Remove - Automatic Transmission Fluid, Fluid Pan and/or Filter Replacement
Automatic Transmission Fluid Baffle Bolt (1) - Remove and DISCARD [2x]
- Automatic Transmission Fluid Baffle (2) - Remove
Manual Shift Detent Lever Spring Bolt (1) - Remove
- Manual Shift Detent Lever Spring (2) - Remove
Remove the transmission control wiring harness retainer (5).
- Disconnect the electrical connectors as needed then remove the transmission control wiring harness (4).
- Disconnect the automatic transmission auxiliary fluid accumulator solenoid electrical connector
Pull back the manual valve spring (2), then disconnect the manual valve (1) from the manual shift shaft position switch assembly linkage (3).
Rotate the engine as necessary to obtain access to the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket retainer (2).
- Using a suitable pry tool, unlock the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket retainer (2).
- Remove the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket (1).
- NOTE:
Do not remove all the bolts in the control valve body assembly. Remove only the bolts indicated.
Using the DT-48285 Valve Body Torx Plus Socket, remove the 4 M6 x 68 control valve solenoid body bolts (2).
- Using the DT-48285 Valve Body Torx Plus Socket, remove the 7 M6 x 45 control valve solenoid body bolts (1).
- Control Valve Body (3) - Remove
- NOTE:
There are two different grade transmission fluid pump bolts. The bolt grade can be identified by looking at the top of the bolt head. Note the location and the grade of the automatic transmission fluid pump bolts for proper installation.
Remove the 5 M6 x 28 automatic transmission fluid pump bolts (1).
- Automatic Transmission Fluid Pump (2) - Remove
- Automatic Transmission Fluid Pump Seal-Small (3) - Remove and DISCARD
- Automatic Transmission Fluid Pump Seal-Large (4) - Remove and DISCARD
- Automatic Transmission Fluid Pump Drive Shaft Bushing (5) - Remove
- Automatic Transmission Fluid Pump Passage Sleeve (6) - Remove
- Automatic Transmission Fluid Pump Locating Pin (7) - Remove [2x]
Use care when handling the control valve body assembly. If dropped, damage to the control solenoid valve body assembly internal components may result.
Only remove the locator pins if they need to be replaced.
