Removal Procedure
Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter (1) - Remove - Automatic Transmission Fluid, Fluid Pan and/or Filter Replacement
Automatic Transmission Fluid Baffle Bolt (1) - Remove and DISCARD [2x]
- Automatic Transmission Fluid Baffle (2) - Remove
Manual Shift Detent Lever Spring Bolt (1) - Remove
- Manual Shift Detent Lever Spring (2) - Remove
- NOTE:
Mark and identify electrical connectors before removal to ensure correct installation.
Remove the transmission control wiring harness retainer (5).
- If equipped, unlatch the valve body connector retainer (3).
- Disconnect the electrical connectors (1, 2) as needed then remove the transmission control wiring harness (4).
Pull back the manual valve spring (2), then disconnect the manual valve (1) from the manual shift shaft position switch assembly linkage (3).
Rotate the engine as necessary to obtain access to the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket retainer (2).
- Using a suitable pry tool, unlock the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket retainer (2).
- Remove the transmission fluid pump driven sprocket (1).
- NOTE:
Do not remove all the bolts in the control valve body assembly. Remove only the bolts indicated.
Using the DT-48285 Valve Body Torx Plus Socket, remove the 4 M6 x 45 control valve solenoid body bolts (1).
- Using the DT-48285 Valve Body Torx Plus Socket, remove the 7 M6 x 68 control valve solenoid body bolts (2).
- Control Valve Body (3) - Remove
Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect
- Automatic Transmission Fluid Baffle Bolt (2) - Remove and DISCARD [3x]
- Retainer (3) - Disengage [2x]
- Automatic Transmission Output Speed Sensor Wiring Harness (4) - Remove
Use care when handling the control valve body assembly. If dropped, damage to the control solenoid valve body assembly internal components may result.
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.
