Circuit/System Verification

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  2. Verify DTC U137A is not set and no other DTCs are set.
    • If DTC U137A is set and no other DTCs are set 

      Replace the component: G58 Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump

    • Go to next step: If the DTC is not set 
  3. Verify DTC P146D, P146E, P146F is not set.
    • Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set 
  4. Verify DTC U111E, U1348 is not set.
    • If DTC U111E is set and no other DTCs are set 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • If DTC U111E, U1348 is set and other DTCs are set 

      Refer to DTC U1345-U1349

    • Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set 
  5. Verify DTC P1467, P1468, P1469, P146A is not set.
    • If any of the DTCs are set 

      Replace the component: G58 Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump

    • Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set 
  6. Verify the scan tool parameter: Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump Supply Voltage Status = Okay
    • If not the specified state 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the specified state 
  7. Verify the scan tool parameter: Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump Overtemperature = No
    • If not the specified state 
    1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
    2. Verify the component location is free of debris, clutter or any obstruction that may reduce airflow which could cause an overheat condition: G58 Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump
      • If a condition exists - Repair or replace as necessary
      • If no condition exists - Replace the component: G58 Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump
    • Go to next step: If the specified state 
  8. Perform the scan tool control function: Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump - On

    Verify a condition does not exist with the component: G58 Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump - Turns Off

    Perform the action while monitoring the component:

    • Wiggle the harness and connector: G58 Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Pump
    • Wiggle the harness and connector: K20 Engine Control Module
    • If a condition exists 

      Repair as necessary - Wiring / Terminal(s) / Electrical Connector(s)

    • Go to next step: If no condition exists 
  9. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.

    Verify the DTC does not set.

    • If the DTC sets 

      Refer to: Circuit/System Testing

    • Go to next step: If the DTC does not set 
  10. All OK.
