Installation Procedure

    Install the differential carrier assembly (1) to the rear suspension cradle (2).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Differential Carrier Front Bolt (1) - Install [2x]

  3. Differential Carrier Nut (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Install the NEW differential carrier rear bolt and washer (1) and tighten. Fastener Specifications

    Install the transmission fluid auxiliary cooler inlet and outlet pipe assembly (3) to the differential carrier.

  6. Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Bolt (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  7. Transmission Fluid Cooler Pipe Clip Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    Install the following components on the left and right sides as assemblies (1).

    • Rear Suspension Knuckle
    • Rear Suspension Upper Trailing Link
    • Rear Suspension Lower Trailing Link
    • Rear Suspension Upper Control Arm
    • Rear Suspension Adjust Link
    • Rear Brake Rotor
    • Rear Wheel Drive Shaft

    NOTE:

    The rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (1) and washers (2) are serviced as a rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer kit consisting of 2 bolts and 1 washer.

  10. If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the component. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  11. Install 3 NEW wheel drive shaft flange washers (2).
  12. Install and tighten the 6 NEW rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainers in a crisscross pattern. Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    The rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer (2) and washers (1) are serviced as a rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainer kit consisting of 2 bolts and 1 washer.

  14. If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:
    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.

    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  15. Install 3 NEW wheel drive shaft flange washers (1).
  16. Install and tighten the 6 NEW rear wheel drive shaft universal joint retainers in a crisscross pattern. Fastener Specifications

    Rear Suspension Upper Control Arm- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Reposition [2x]

  18. Rear Suspension Upper Control Arm Inner Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install NEW [2x]
  19. Rear Suspension Upper Control Arm Inner Nut- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Suspension Upper Trailing Link- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Reposition [2x]

  21. Rear Suspension Upper Trailing Link Inner Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install NEW [2x]
  22. Rear Suspension Upper Trailing Link Inner Nut- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Suspension Lower Trailing Link- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Reposition [2x]

  24. Rear Suspension Trailing Arm Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install NEW [2x]
  25. Rear Suspension Trailing Arm Nut- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Suspension Adjust Link- Left Side and Right Side (4) - Reposition [2x]

  27. Rear Suspension Adjust Link Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install NEW [2x]
  28. Rear Suspension Adjust Link Washer- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]
  29. NOTE:

    The final torque on the rear suspension link inner nut (1) is to be applied during the rear toe setting procedure.

  30. Rear Suspension Link Inner Nut- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install and hand tighten [2x]

    Install the rear stabilizer shaft (1) with the rear stabilizer shaft links attached.

    Rear Stabilizer Shaft Clamp (3) - Install [2x]

  33. Rear Stabilizer Shaft Clamp Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [3x] - Fastener Specifications
  34. Rear Stabilizer Shaft Clamp Stud (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
  35. Rear Stabilizer Shaft Link Bolt (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Electronic Suspension Rear Vertical Accelerometer- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install [2x]

  37. Wiring Harness Retainer- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]
  38. Wiring Harness Retainer- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [6x]
  39. Wiring Harness Retainer- Left Side and Right Side (4) - Install [2x]
  40. Electronic Suspension Rear Vertical Accelerometer Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (5) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Rear Wheel Speed Sensor- Left Side and Right Side (2) - Install [2x]

  42. Wiring Harness Retainer- Left Side and Right Side (1) - Install [2x]
  43. Wiring Harness Retainer- Left Side and Right Side (3) - Install [6x]
  44. Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Bolt- Left Side and Right Side (4) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications

    Install the chassis wiring harness (6) to the rear suspension cradle assembly.

  46. Wiring Harness Retainer (5) - Install
  47. Electrical Connector (3) @ Differential Carrier Assembly - Connect
  48. Connect the 2 chassis wiring harness connectors (4) to the left and right side wheel speed sensor harness connectors.
  49. Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
  50. Wiring Harness Retainer (1) - Install [5x]

    Wiring Harness Retainer (2) - Install [4x]

    Rear Suspension Cradle (1) - Install - Rear Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (Blackwing MHU) , or Rear Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (Blackwing MG9) , or Rear Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (LSY F46) , or Rear Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (L3B RWL) , or Rear Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (L3B F46) , or Rear Suspension Cradle Removal and Installation (LSY RWL)
