Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection 
  2. Drain the cooling system.   3. Oil Filler Cap - Remove

    Intake Manifold Cover Bolt(1) - Remove

  5. Intake Manifold Cover(2) - Remove
  6. Install the oil filler cap after removal of the intake manifold cover to prevent debris from falling into the engine.

    CAUTION:

    The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) line is tamper resistant and must always be replaced once it is removed. The fittings connected to the PCV line must also be replaced if they are damaged when the PCV line is removed. To reduce the risk of damage to the fittings, use a suitable cutting tool and carefully cut the connections away.

    Using a suitable cutting tool, carefully cut the 2 positive crankcase ventilation tube connectors (1).

  8. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Fresh Air Tube(2) - Remove and DISCARD

    Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator Vacuum Tank Solenoid Valve Tube(1) - Disconnect and reposition - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  10. Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp(2) - Loosen

    Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose Clamp(1) - Loosen

  12. Charge Air Bypass Valve Hose(2) - Reposition
  13. Retainer Spring(3) - Disengage

    Auxiliary Air Cleaner Outlet Duct(1) - Remove

    Retaining Clip(1) - Remove

    Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt(1) - Remove

  17. Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket(2) - Remove and DISCARD[2x]
  18. Turbocharger Coolant Return Pipe(3) - Remove

    Positive Assurance Cap (1) - Reposition

  20. Using a suitable tool, remove the turbocharger oil feed pipe fitting clip (2).

    Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt(1) - Remove[2x]

  22. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle

    Rear Tire Front Air Deflector Bolt- Left Side and Right Side(1) - Remove[4x]

    Rear Wheelhouse Liner Bolt- Left Side(1) - Remove

    Floor Panel Number 4 Cross Bar Reinforcement Bolt (1) - Remove[6x]

    Exhaust Muffler Hanger Bracket Nut(1) - Remove[4x]

    With the aid of an assistant, remove the exhaust muffler (1).

  45. Catalytic Converter Gasket(2) - Remove and DISCARD

    Catalytic Converter Brace Bracket Nut(1) - Remove[5x]

  48. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.[2x]

    Warm Up Three-Way Catalytic Converter(1) - Remove
