Removal Procedure

    NOTE:

    Leave the oil filter in place, or oil will continue to drip and contaminate the sealing surface.

  1. Drain the engine oil. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (RWD) , or Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (AWD)

    Front Bumper Fascia Center Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [5x]

  3. Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]
  4. GM5396453

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (1) - Remove

  5. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]
  6. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (3) - Remove
  7. GM5396496

    Front Wheelhouse Liner Bolt (3) - Remove

  8. Engine Front Splash Shield Retainer (2) - Remove [2x]
  9. Engine Front Splash Shield Bolt (1) - Remove
  10. GM5420502

    Front Compartment Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Remove [4x]

  11. Front Compartment Air Deflector (2) - Remove
  12. GM5442545

    Remove wiring harness retainers.

  13. Lower Oil Pan Bolt (1) - Remove [18x]
    14. NOTE:
    1. Use the lower oil pan bolts in the provided jack screw (threaded inserts) in the oil pan. Tighten the jack screw by hand 1 to 2 turn each uniformly and move to the next screw until the oil pan has full separation from the LCE.
    2. Use care not to damage the LCE sealing surface.
  14. Lower Oil Pan (2) - Remove

    Positive Crankcase Ventilation Oil Separator Drain Pipe (1) - Remove
