Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve Bolt (1) - Remove
- The engine should be allowed to cool for 2 hours, or until the pump is near ambient temperature or there is a high risk of breaking the oil pump flow control solenoid valve off in the bore when attempting removal.
- Oil pump locating pins (3) shown for visual purpose, they are not serviceable.
- Oil Pump Flow Control Solenoid Valve (2) - Remove

Oil Pump Drive Shaft (1) @ Oil Pump (2) - Remove
Leave the oil filter in place, or oil will continue to drip.
Rotate and tilt the balancer shaft access hole plate as necessary to remove through the access hole.
After removing the oil pump flow control valve, ensure the entire valve has been removed and there is no debris left in the oil pump bore. Failure to ensure the oil pump bore is free from debris may result in engine damage.
