- Remove the oil fill cap.
Lift up on the front of the intake manifold cover (1) as indicated.
Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Remove
- CAUTION:
If any malfunction is experienced which may cause debris to enter the oil supply, you must replace the engine oil cooler and hoses if equipped. Debris in the engine oil cooler and oil cooler hoses may be pulled back into the engine causing severe engine damage.
NOTE:A constant and continuous flow of clean engine oil is required in order to properly prime the engine. Ensure an approved engine oil is used, as specified in the owners manual.
Disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Engine Oil Pressure Sensor (2) - Remove
- Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Seal (1) - Remove and DISCARD
- Install the M12 x 1.75 adapter.
Install the flexible hose to the adapter and open the valve.
- Pump the handle on the EN-45299 Engine Preluber (1) in order to flow a minimum of 1 - 1.9 liters (1 - 2 quarts) of engine oil. Observe the flow of the engine oil through the flexible hose and into the engine assembly.
- Close the valve and remove the flexible hose and adapter from the engine.
- CAUTION:
Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .
Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Seal (2) - Install NEW
- Engine Oil Pressure Sensor (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Connect the engine oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
Intake Manifold Cover (1) @ Upper Intake Manifold Bracket (2) - Install
- NOTE:
Ensure the intake manifold cover fully engages the intake manifold cover studs.
- Push down on the front of the intake manifold cover (1) as indicated.
- Top-off the engine oil to the proper level.
- Install the oil fill cap.
