Installation Procedure
- Exhaust Pipe Clamp (1) - Install NEW
- Catalytic Converter Gasket - Install NEW
- Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket (2) - Install NEW
Turbocharger Heat Shield (2) - Install NEW
- Compressor Air Intake Turbocharger (1) - Install
- Turbocharger Bolt (3) - Install NEW and tighten in sequence [4x] - Fastener Specifications
- Turbocharger Oil Feed Pipe Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Gasket (2) - Install NEW
- Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe (1) - Install
Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Install [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Turbocharger Coolant Return Hose Clamp (2) - Engage [2x] - Hose Clamp Replacement Guidelines - Spring Type
- Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe Bolt (1) - Install [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Electrical Connector (1) @ Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator - Connect
- Engine Wiring Harness Retainer (2) @ Turbocharger Coolant Feed and Return Pipe - Install [2x]
Electrical Connector (1) @ Turbocharger Bypass Valve Solenoid (2) - Connect
Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Tube (2) @ Turbocharger (3) - Install
- Retainer Spring (1) - Engage
Exhaust Pipe Clamp (1) - Tighten - Fastener Specifications
Catalytic Converter Heat Shield (1) - Install
Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Nut (2) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications
- Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
Turbocharger Heat Shield (1) - Install
Turbocharger Heat Shield Bolt (1) - Install [3x] - Fastener Specifications
- Reposition and connect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.
Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Fitting Seal (4) - Install NEW [2x]
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose (3) - Install
- Retainer (2) - Install [2x]
- Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose Connector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Connect the electrical connector.
Electrical Connector (1) @ Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (2) - Install
Air Cleaner Outlet Duct (1) - Install
- Connect the electrical connector.
Positive Crankcase Ventilation Tube (3) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Tube (2) - Connect - Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service
- Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Clamp (1) - Tighten [2x] - Fastener Specifications
- Fill the cooling system. Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY GE 47716) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 Static Fill) , or Cooling System Draining and Filling (LSY with V03 GE 47716) , or
- Connect the battery. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Perform the turbocharger wastegate learn. Turbocharger Wastegate Learn
- For a compressor air intake turbocharger failure. Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (RWD) , or Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement (AWD)
- Perform the engine oil life reset. GM Oil Life System Resetting (With Scan Tool) , or GM Oil Life System Resetting (Without Scan Tool)
- Start the engine and check for coolant leaks.
- Inspect the exhaust system for leaks.
Do not tighten the exhaust pipe clamp.
