Terminal Removal Procedure

0.64 Terminals

    Remove the wire cover by inserting a small screwdriver underneath the release tabs on both sides of the cover

    With the wire cover latches released, insert you finger under the cover and gently pull up on the cover and gently pull away from the wire bundle, pull gently on the front of the cover to fully remove it from the connector.

    NOTE:

    Cut under the wire tab to prevent damage to the wires.

    Remove the wire tie from the wire harness by carefully cutting it.

    Insert a small screwdriver into the TPA service hole at one end of the connector and pry up. Repeat this step on the other side. The TPA will stop when it reaches pre-lock position for terminal servicing.

    Insert removal tool J-38125-213 into the terminal access hole.

    NOTE:

    This process requires little to no force. If force is need, reinsert the tool and ensure locking tab has been deflected.

    Insert the tool (1) until the locking tab is deflected (2). With the locking tab deflected, gently pull on the wire until the terminal (3) is released from the connector.

2.8 Terminals
