Terminal Removal Procedure

0.64 Terminals

    Gently spread the arms of the lever while rotating it forward to the closed position shown in the figures above.

    Insert the J-38125-553 tool into the slot on the connector locking covers shown in the figures above.

    Rotate the tool as shown in the figures above to release the locking covers.

    Repeat procedure until all locking covers are released.

    Once all locking covers are released rotate the lever to the latched position until an audible click is heard or felt.

    • (1) Primary Lock Edge
    • (2) Secondary Lock Edge
    • (3) Terminal Flex Lock
  6. Carefully lift the locking covers out of the way until the terminal is visible.

    With the locking cover is out of the way, insert the tool J-38125-553 into the cavity and deflect the flex lock. Gently pull on the wire to get it past the primary lock edge.

    Deflect the flex lock again and gently pull the wire to get it past the secondary lock edge. Continue to pull until the terminal is fully removed from the connector body.

    Gently spread the arms of the lever while rotating it forward to the closed position shown in the figures above.

    Insert the J-38125-553 tool into the slot on the connector locking covers shown in the figures above.

    Rotate the tool as shown in the figures above to release the locking covers.

    Repeat procedure until all locking covers are released.

    Once all locking covers are released rotate the lever to the latched position until an audible click is heard or felt.

    Push in on the wire to seat the terminal to the front of the connector to relieve pressure on the terminal flex lock.

    Locate the removal windows at the front of the connector. Insert the tool J-38125-556 straight into the cavity to deflect the terminal locks.

    Gently pull on the wire and fully remove the terminal from the connector.
