Circuit/System Verification

  1. Vehicle in service mode, headlamps ON.
    2. NOTE:

    Use the schematics to identify the interior backlighting components the vehicle is equipped with.

  2. Verify all backlight dimming components change lighting intensity while adjusting the S36 Dimmer Switch.
    • If all of the backlight dimming components do not change lighting intensity 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing - Dimmer Switch Malfunction.

    • If one or more backlight dimming components do not change lighting intensity 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing - Interior Backlighting Malfunction.

    • Go to next step: If all of the backlight dimming components change lighting intensity 
    3. NOTE:
    • Use the schematics to identify which switches come equipped with a LED indicator.
    • Refer to the appropriate switch's system Description and Operation for proper switch operation
  3. Verify all switch LED indicators turn ON and OFF when pressing their respective switches.
    • If one or more LED indicators do not turn ON and OFF 

      Refer to Circuit/System Testing - Switch LED Indicator Malfunction

    • Go to next step: If all LED indicators turn ON and OFF 
  4. All OK.
