Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF, vehicle locked, scan tool disconnected, all doors closed, all accessories OFF.
  2. Verify the exterior courtesy lamps located under the outside rearview mirrors and (if equipped with RPO HD7) inside the exterior door handles turn ON when unlocking the vehicle with the keyless entry transmitter.
    • If the exterior courtesy lamps do not turn ON 

      Refer to Exterior Courtesy Lamps Malfunction

    • Go to next step: If the exterior courtesy lamps do turn ON 
  3. Ignition OFF/Vehicle OFF, all doors closed, all accessories OFF, lock the vehicle.
  4. Place the keyless entry transmitter at least 5 meters away from the vehicle for 60 seconds.
  5. Approach the vehicle and place the keyless entry transmitter within 3 meters of the vehicle.
  6. Verify the exterior courtesy lamps located under the outside rearview mirrors and (if equipped with RPO HD7) inside the exterior door handles turn ON.
    • If the exterior courtesy lamps do not turn ON 
  7. Refer to Keyless Entry System Malfunction
    • Go to next step: If the exterior courtesy lamps do turn ON 
  8. All is currently OK and an intermittent issue may be present.
